Join Medtronic and Dr Saxon Connor as he shares the journey of a multidisciplinary team’s pioneering efforts to integrate artificial intelligence and digital technologies into surgical practice. The team’s work explores predictive algorithms and surgical video analysis, overcoming challenges in data quality, ethics, and workflow integration. Through collaborations with Digital Surgery™, they enabled large-scale video annotation and analytics in their practice.

Dr Saxon Connor – a leading HPB surgeon in Christchurch, New Zealand, has served at Christchurch Hospital since 2005 following advanced UK training. Internationally recognised, his research spans safe cholecystectomy, bile duct injury, minimally invasive pancreatic necrosectomy, enhanced recovery, and post-pancreatectomy pancreatitis. As Canterbury District Health Board’s e-clinical health lead, he drives digital innovation.
Dr Connor has published over 130 works, held editorial roles, and served on the AANZHPBA’s board, contributing widely to international surgical societies and education.
