Journey into The World of AI and Surgery with Dr Saxon Connor
Dr Saxon Connor is a leading HPB surgeon based in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Since 2005, he has served at Christchurch Hospital, following advanced HPB training in the UK (Liverpool and Edinburgh) after completing his surgical training in New Zealand. Internationally recognised for his expertise, Dr. Connor’s research focuses on safe cholecystectomy, bile duct injury, minimally invasive pancreatic necrosectomy, enhanced recovery surgery, and post-pancreatectomy pancreatitis. He is also passionate about digital health, serving as the e-clinical health lead for Canterbury District Health Board and driving innovation in electronic workflow solutions for clinicians. Dr. Connor has published over 130 articles, book chapters, and videos, and has held editorial roles with leading surgical journals.
Saxon is a board member of AANZHPBA and has contributed to several international surgical societies, reflecting his commitment to advancing surgical care and education.
