The acceptance, timing, presentation, and discussion of all papers are at the discretion of the Organising Committee
The closing date and time – AEST 16:00 on Monday 17 June 2024 is not negotiable, unless otherwise stated
A maximum of two papers per author will be accepted
Case studies will not be considered under any circumstance. Any case study submitted will be deemed ineligible without notice
Late submissions will not be considered under any circumstance
All outlined requirements pertaining to FORMAT must be adhered to. Any submitted abstract that exceeds the advertised word count, will have all words over the word count deleted prior to the formal review process without notice. An abstract template is available for those who choose to utilise it
Changes to, or re-submission, will not be considered under any circumstance
All submitted papers will be reviewed by the GSA Research & Scholarships Committee following the close of the abstract submission process
Each abstract will be reviewed based on the following criteria:
Is the abstract original?
Does it address an important scientific question?
Is the abstract clearly written with all salient facts?
Does the work adhere to ethical guidelines?
Is there evidence of statistical method if appropriate?
Are the conclusions justified by the results?
Successful applicants will be notified of a *verbal or *poster presentation, by email only, no later than AEST 17:00 on Monday 29 July 2024
*Verbal presentations are to be made during the free-paper sessions, to be held on the following days of the Scientific Program:
Friday 18 October
Saturday 19 October
Sunday 20 October
The allocation of date and time for verbal presentations is not negotiable or changeable
The person who has submitted the abstract is therefore the presenter, and the person who will be recognised for the research in the form of a certificate. This is not changeable under any circumstance and requests to change presenters will not be considered
If authors wish to withdraw their abstracts from presentation or publication they are requested to notify the Event Manager via e-mail to [email protected]
In order to present selected verbal and/or poster free papers, a completed ASM registration must be submitted prior to presentation date/time. Failure to complete this process will result in an incomplete submission and a certificate of presentation will not be issued
Authors
The abstract submitter is listed as the first author and presenting author
The first and presenting author cannot be changed after submission and must attend in person to present
Please ensure that all authors who contributed to the work are included and listed correctly. Authors’ names should be entered as they would appear in the published abstract This cannot be altered after submission
Changing the order of the authors or removing authors after submission is not possible.
By submitting an abstract, the primary author certifies that they have the approval of all co-authors listed in the application to publish and present the information contained within the abstract
Abstract Revision and Withdrawal Policy
Revision of the submitted abstract following submission is not possible so please ensure that the abstract you are submitting meets the outlined requirements, does not contain spelling or grammar mistakes, and authors are listed correctly
Requests for abstract withdrawal must be made in writing
Late withdrawal of chosen papers will incur a cancellation fee of $77 Inc. GST, payable upon invoicing
