General Surgeon – Western Australia

Dr Linda Vu is an Australian-trained general surgeon and will be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She completed her surgical training in Western Australia, with broad exposure across metropolitan and regional centres, and a strong clinical focus in Upper Gastrointestinal surgery during her time at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Prior to embarking on her medical career, she worked as a physiotherapist, bringing a unique multidisciplinary perspective to her surgical practice.

She holds a Master of Surgical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education, also from Edinburgh, reflecting her longstanding commitment to surgical education. Throughout her training, Dr Vu was actively involved in education and teaching. She is the current co-convener of the WA Research and Training Education Program and led the GSSE preparation course at Royal Perth Hospital, where she developed and delivered targeted curriculum to junior surgical trainees.

With a strong interest in academic surgery, Dr Vu currently holds dual university appointments. She is an examiner and former sessional tutor with the School of Medicine at the University of Notre Dame, and an Adjunct Clinical Lecturer with the University of Western Australia. She remains actively engaged in surgical education, research, and mentorship at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
